Jen Freeman Consulting, LLC provides consulting services for non-profit organizations and government agencies.  Jen has twenty-five years of non-profit management experience at all levels including eight years as executive director.  She has significant experience collaborating with non-profits, government agencies, and funders including grant solicitation, relationship building, grant management, fund management, and reporting. She specializes in youth development and engagement, human services, conservation and stewardship, community collaboration, earned-income business models, and national service/AmeriCorps programs.

Jen most recently served as the Executive Director of the Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA), a statewide non-profit organization that promotes youth development through conservation.  Jen quadrupled the CYCA budget (from $863k to $3.6 million) in her eight years as executive director.  She left CYCA in 2014 to launch Jen Freeman Consulting.

In her 15 years at the Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA), she worked with 10 primary stakeholders (member youth corps) to coordinate a variety of awareness campaigns, conferences, fundraising events, legislative outreach efforts, media campaigns, and retreats.  She worked collaboratively with youth corps and numerous other organizations to increase the investment in Colorado’s youth and young adults.

Jen holds a B.S. in Psychology and a M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University in Illinois and a graduate certificate in non-profit management from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. She also participates in a variety of collaborative efforts to support youth development and conservation in Colorado and the nation, sits on several boards of directors and volunteers in the community.

Jen is skilled at harnessing the power of the collective to accomplish more than can be achieved when organizations operate independently.  Her approach can best be described as tactical, practical, and effective.
