Jen Freeman provides consulting services for non-profit organizations and government agencies. Jen has thirty years of non-profit management experience at all levels including eight years as executive director. She has significant experience collaborating with non-profits, government agencies, and funders including grant writing and solicitation, grant management, prospect research, fund management, and reporting. She specializes in youth development and engagement, human services, conservation and stewardship, education, community collaboration, and national service/AmeriCorps programs.
Jen served as the Executive Director of the Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA), a statewide non-profit organization that promotes youth development through conservation. Jen quadrupled the CYCA budget (from $863k to $3.6 million) in her eight years as executive director. She left CYCA in 2014 to launch Jen Freeman Consulting.
Jen holds a B.S. in Psychology and a M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University in Illinois and a graduate certificate in non-profit management from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. She also participates in a variety of collaborative efforts to support youth development and conservation in Colorado and the nation. Her approach can best be described as tactical, practical, and effective.
